1.Present and Apologies

2. Minutes of last meeting Matters arising
The Minutes were approved.
Carol and Graham Tree – Martin presented the gifts from the Association when the Trees visited Beverley; they sent a thank-you card which included their new address in Dorset and invited friends to call in.
Web-site – no news from the Council on the hyper-link.
Elwells dinner – the menu for the dinner on 02.05.24 will be sent out to members shortly; it was proposed and accepted that the charge for the dinner would be £25pp, the extra £5 going to Association funds; members will pay Martin who will then pay the restaurant, and the remainder into the Association building society account; Christine will ask Toni to organise the raffle.
Fuccechio placements – there has been an offer of a placement from the Library; Martin will pass on Toni and Christine’s details to Alessandra as they have kindly agreed to host her.

Membership (Michèle)
So far £270 has been collected in 2024 subscriptions which equates to 18 members.
Treasurer (Jim)
The treasurer was not present.
AFS (Michèle)
A lecture on La Fontaine and his fables was given on 16.04.24. A dinner will be held at Cerutti 2 on 19.06.24 which Association members are welcome to attend. The price is £47 pp for a 3 course meal including a glass of wine & coffee. Contact Michèle by email.
4. Planning and preparations for the visit from Nogent in May 2024
Thursday – Leeds airport pick-up
Tricia will check prices for a people carrier in case one is needed.
An additional guest may be coming, in which case it may be necessary to have another car, driver and host to accommodate them.
Friday- Breakfast in the Green Dragon
It was decided to order the Small Irish Breakfast for everyone who is attending.
Saturday – Bowls and Tennis at 2.30pm
Nancy informed us that the Beverley Cricket and Tennis Club would be laying on a cream tea for all the visitors and hosts.
The venue is the Beverley Cricket Grounds and Tennis Club off Norwood.
The two tennis players from Nogent will play tennis and everyone can join in the bowls.
Sunday night – Fish and Chip supper at St. Mary’s Church Hall
It was decided to order a Pensioner’s portion for everyone.
Kate agreed to supply the mushy peas.
Wine boxes, soft drinks, beer, tea and coffee will need to be bought.
Martin is organising some live music.
Brigitte will request details of dietary requirements from Nogent.
Responses from Margaret and Jim are needed.
Tricia requested that a copy of the programme for the weekend be sent to the Beverley mayor, interested councillors, and to the local MP, inviting them to attend the Reception. Martin to action with the Town Council.
Kate and Brigitte will produce the final programme.
Any photos of the weekend to be sent to Beverley Life – we need someone to co-ordinate this.
5. Visit to Fuccechio April 2024
Martin’s report of the visit is attached.
6. AOB
Film nights to be organised for Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025 on Fridays.
Whitsun weekend 2025 – the Twinning 55th Anniversary in Nogent.
Autumn 2025 – Visit from Fuccechio. This gives us longer to raise the necessary finances.
